Francis Joyon Awarded French Sailor Of The Year 2008

Tonight, during the traditional "Soiree des Champions" organized by the
Federation Francaise de Voile, Francis Joyon was named as French sailor of
the year. The recordman of the Round the World Record succeeds to Michel
Desjoyeaux, winner of the Solitaire Afflelou le Figaro and of the Transat
Jacques Vabre with Emmanuel Le Borgne on the monohull 60 feet Foncia.
Francis Joyon received this price for the first time.
The awards evening took place during the Nautical Paris Boat Show with
Joyon beating six other nominees to the award.
